Rough Week

Sunday as I got home from camping and wheeling with the Jeep I got a call from my Grandma saying that my Grandpa had to go to the hospital. He keeps getting worse as each day passes. Last night at 3 AM on my way home from a friends house I get a call saying that Grandpa called home and said "I need Dave to come to the hospital and save my life" so I turn the car around and head over to the hospital and sit there with him to keep him company and keep him at ease until 8 this morning. Came home, took a nap and went and visited him for about an hour today and then met some buddies at the bar to try and get my mind off things. When I was just about to head home I get a call saying that he had to be put on a ventilator or else he would have died before the night was over.

I know none of you know me and I just post randomly, but I really needed to just vent a little and you all seem to be a real good group when it comes to shit like this.

Thanks for reading.

Just got a phone call from my Uncle who is at the hospital right now saying that he is "critical, but very hopeful" after they got him hooked up to the ventilator.

we may not know you personally, but when it comes to a family member in the hospital, EVERYONE HERE UNDERSTANDS.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your grandfather!

Just hang in there Dave and keep the good lord close to you...You both will be in my family's prayers.

Sounds like you had a great relationship with him. You will always have those memories to remember. Celebrate his life more than you mourn his passing. I'll say a prayer for you and your family during these trying times.

Thank you very much everyone. We've all been sitting around and talking about memories of him. He was the greatest guy you'd ever meet and we have many many great memories of him.
