Roofing question

Im finishing the roof on my shed.....

It is unheated and a barn style roof. I have new wood and paper down. Do i need ice and water shield?

If you have no gutters (since it's a shed) there is no reason to have the ice shield.

Pretty sure code doesn't apply to sheds when you can buy wood sheds prebuilt without any moisture barriers between the shingles and wood.

Im going to go without. The only reason the old boards rotted is because prior owners failed to shingle it when it needed it.
