Depends really. If you ever plan on changing heads I say just wait. I put 1.7's on my 91 Vert then 3 months later bought heads that used stud mounts instead of pedestals... I had to buy rockers again... If your 100% sure your going to go with a head that uses pedestal mounts I say go for it.
It's one of the last things I'd do though. Get a gear, headers, H pipe first. If it's an AOD car getting a shift kit installed and a new torque converter woke the car up a ton.
