RIP my sweet callie

We had to put our 13yr boxer down tonight. I hated having to do this but it was time and we didn't want her to suffer. When I got home from the vet my 4yr old son said "Dad I'm really going to miss callie" with a tear rolling down our face I told him "So will we" then he looks at me and says "now she can help keep the damn rabbits out of God's yard" I about pissed myself.

For those Boxer Babies in the sky
Who have left our loving arms
Don't stop to ask or wonder why
Just know they're free from harm
No pain or fright confronts them now
They've left that all behind
They're embracing joy and freedom
And still live in our minds
Eyes are bright and seeing clear
Velvet skin is healed
Legs aren't stiff, and ears can hear
Our love they still can feel
Embrace their memory, hold it tight
Wipe away your tears
The Boxer joy that filled your life
Will last throughout the years
Think of them with happy thoughts
Say a thankful prayer
All those happy Boxer angels
Still know that we care

That's too bad. Sorry to hear. I remember when I woke up one morning for work and my Mom told me to say goodbye to Shadow, our first ever dog. I knew it the day was coming, but it was so hard. He sat on our lazy boy and looked up at me when I said goodbye. He had two tumors in his colon. It took him an hour to go #2. Must have been so painful for him. Even though I was 21 years old, I cried like I was 12 years old. So sad to lose a dog.

RIP to your Boxer.

I'm so sorry for your loss.

Rainbow Bridge

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind. They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

You've got be kidding me :( , my brother's 13 y/o Boxer was diagnosed with a heart tumor today and they are probably going to have to put him down this weekend. He already had a heart attack last week and is having constant arrhythmias.

Sorry for your lose, they are really great dogs.

Here's a pic of Buster, I'm sure Callie was just as great a family member.
