YOu can make it point wherever you want to. Just be sure the wires are in the proper order, and number one is where the rotor is pointing when number one cylinder is at TDC and the compression stroke.

so my #1 is ware the rotor should be sitting when seated ?

your #1 should be at the rotor on TDC comp stroke. Here is a tip I got from OJ, go to autozone and buy a remote crank trigger, pull the #1 plug, plug the spark plug hole with your finger, bump the motor over until it pushes you finger off - you should be near TDC

im still stumpped , ive had this problem with my old motor also and replaced just about everything posible to fix the problem and still have not fixed it ... car runs great at idle but takes off and drives like a slug , pull any sensor ( as long as it makes the CEL light come on ) and the car runs like a top , any ideas at all here ? , i know i dont have any vac leaks , no CEL codes saying anything is wrong ( only stored codes are smog being deleted ) , fuel pressure check out great also

Now the car revs fine in neutral and park? But not when the motor is under a load? It seems like it only runs fine when maybe the car goes into limp home mode. What haven't you replaced?

i think i may have found 1 problem , the red and green vacuum lines , the red one goes to the intake and the green one to the EGR , i had them switched , i doubt something that simple would have fixxed my problem thow

Pull your spout connector, lock out your timing at 14-16* leave it disconnected and take it for a ride

revs fine in N and P yes , seems heavy thow while reving if that makes any sence , but while driving it has no guts , have not replaced the
MAF ( cleaned it with maf cleaner thow )
o2 sensors
coolant temp sensor
fuel pump or regulator ( pressures all check out so i dont think its fuel related )

theres no CEL light ( unless i make it come on ) , and the only stored codes are smog related

set timing to 16ish * , kept the spout out and there was no change , went to the gas station and put spout back in and pulled a sensor and ran great like it usually does , im in the garadge right now so any ideas would be great

well heres my fuel pressure numbers , ( running with vac on at idle , 27-28 psi ) ( running at idle with vac off , 33-34psi ) , seems to idle a little better with the vac line off

How dose the exhaust smell when it's running like shit? Dose it over heat when you don't Disconnect a sensor and do you have the test light for checking injectors?
