Haven't been aboe to post much because im getting ready to go to wyotech this fall so im makeing a mad dash on my fathers 79 ranchero but i have hit a wall. Im tring to switch rearends from a small yolk ford 9" to a big yolk 9" we had in our donor parts car. Unforunately bolts in both rearends only turn and wont come out the bushings even with the nuts removed. I have tried heating the bolts till they were red and beating on them with a hammer but no luck. My father wants to give up on switching rearends but the bolts on his car still need to come out because the bushings are in really bad shape. I have heard of burning them out has any one done this before? we have new lower control arms for it but the uppers no one makes so i cant dammage them. Any advice is appreciated.

Found a way to get it out. A 4" or bigger cut off wheel will fit between the upper control arms and the ear on the rearend. then finished the bolts off with a tortch. To burn them out all i did was heat the left over bolts in the bushings with a torch untill they melted out. That left the outer bearing case inside and that came out with an air hammer. Alot of work but its going to look good when its all back toghether.
