You didn't log into Motown Muscle for a day and there would be 5-10 pages of new posts?!?! Now you don't visit for 2 weeks and there's 2 pages........ Have we all grown up?

I have been thinking about that, too...But, Crazzzzzzzzzzy Al was 3 or 4 of those pages just to get his post count up!

Alright, how many other forums do you visit in a day? For me I'd say 5 at least once a day. Motown Muscle is one of the few I comment on though.

errrrr huh? Al did post a lot about his workouts......and hairgels. Cant say it wasnt entertaining.

Yep, Facebook killed the message board format.. Even with FB , we still have a ton of lurkers. I can see when everyone's on regardless if they're hidden or not. There's still times that it's hopping and no one's posting.

Wall flowers! Like a junior high dance.

It isn't just MM, it's most forums in general. Facebook has taken over. Some forums I used to frequent were stupid busy back in the day, but now you'd be lucky to see a handful of people logged in, and even less posting. From the looks of it, forums have become more or less an archive of knowledge. If you're having a problem and you Google an answer, the stuff you find in forums is often more in depth than the crap you find on any old website.

That's what happens when you get married and are forced to sell your coupe and CJ.

I prefer it here due to lack of trolls. I don't care who you are or what you are posting, someone knows better blah blah blah.

I follow Josh (Browndog) on FB and he gets flamed for his welding skills.... its almost a joke to see what people say about some of his art.

I am on quite a few forums, there are many talented people on forums. If I need some answers I turn to Google. If it isn't a routine question and I need an answer immediately I turn to FB and usually post a thread here too.

Garage Journal and HAMB are great sites for almost anything mechanical (homes thru hot rods)
Motown is/was great for car info and now guns. I like it here because you can get info on local businesses or advice on regional inquiries as opposed to other forums.

So are there "message boards" on Facebook? I don't understand how it has made forums less active. I have noticed the lack of activity, though.

Pre Facebook, us old farts went and interacted on message boards for social interaction. It's the basis of what caused us to start Motown Muscle way back in the day spinning off from the CamaroZ28.COM Michigan section. It's the same reason that people don't go out in the "real world" to interact, they have the world at their fingertips. Head out to what's supposed to be "busy" bar on a Monday/Thursday/weekend. "Back in my day" standing room only, shoulder to shoulder. Sites like the corral, mustangworld, camaroz28, etc are DEAD compared to what they once were.

Motown Muscle has no app (as far as I know). I can click an app on my phone for FB. Most of my friends are car guys. I can post an update on my wall with a car question/ house question etc etc etc and immediately get responses.

Also, people are too busy mindlessly browsing on FB so they put off starting a thread on MM or other forums and keep mindlessly scrolling.

Motown was pretty busy when I joined in 08. I have made a lot of good friends from this site so I tend to stick around. And like some of you guys I don't do the Facebook thing.

The trolls and flaming gets old on Facebook. I don't like how all info posted on Facebook gets buried never to really be viewed again. Not easily searchable. And I'm only 26. I'm supposed to be the guy browsing Facebook while driving and playing pokemon...

I remember when the grudge section was so busy leading up to NO E.T
Events that you couldnt hit refresh fast enough to keep up..I miss those days
