Well I do... Cause I'm still in it! Ok, I'm stuck on this assignment and was wondering if you guys would help. I have to do a 5-7 minute speech that I have to get people to more or less feel the way I do or respect a person or object. The assignment is "Speech 4, speech of tribute" What topic should I do? Keep in mind I have to have 4-5 sources (which I have to quote in the speech) Every topic I can find tons of shit on is nothing I really want to do, and everything I wanna do I can get like 2 sources and that's it. Any ideas?

i could totally give a 5 minute, without stopping speach about how drunk driving is way worse and kills more lives then street racing, but the media portrays street racing as one of the most dangerous things out on the road. hows that for an idea?

tsa report for 2001 said there were 33,000 drunk driving related deaths that year, 47 street racing deaths. which do you think happens more often on a friday/saturday night?
 
if that idea doesnt fit into the program let me know, i'll smoke a cig and come up with another idea. better yet, i'll go take a shit, i've had my best ideas in that room, and flushed some that werent.
 
hell i'll give you the opening line to your speach, here goes:


as a young male college student, i myself am faced with the choice on a weekly basis on what to do on a friday night. go head out to the bar and drink ( be it legal or fake id) subjecting myself to the never ending constaint onslot of peer pressure and possiable stds if i play my cards right, or the simple humble act or slightly illegal (if you get caught) street racing.

wait there's more.... i gotta light up...

if given the choice, and good weather, i'll pick street racing any day. street raicng not only builds character, but helps the economy. economic growth includes having to buy the car, have a job, order parts (which creates more jobs) buy gas, (gives arabs something to do i guess) and work on car, (bonding time with buddies, read:character)

hell usually the most dangerous part of street racing is just drivng to the meet up spot, and hoping you dont get hit by a drunk driver, cause everyone always whines.

anyway, if this doesnt get the gears a rollin, i'll write your whole paper in the next 10 minutes, as i am kinda bored with csi miami tonight...

althought I'm pretty sure I can't do it on an illegal act. She did say no drinking/drugs/sex. And although it is against drinking still won't cut it.

Honestly, I've been through the engines program here and I wouldnt either. We spent like 2 hours on rotaries
 
Bill, your arguement is flawed. Even though Drunk driving is more dangerous, and contributes to a LOT more deaths, drunk driving, like street racing is illegal, so comparing the two proves no point.
 
then throw a curve ball and edit out street racing to spending a meaningful evening at milan dragway racing in legal, safe, santioned competetion. i could still pull off going to the track instead of going to a bar paper

You've got to be because you have got more done in 10 minutes then I have in 4 hours of procrastinating like its my job
