Received e-receipt for something I didn't purchase

This morning received an e-receipt for a place in England. Says it was paid for "cash". First thing I did was check pay pal account and there was nothing new there. It was for a purchase this morning. Any way someone could steal my identity and use a credit card and have it say "cash" payment? Guess I should check my Bank account too. Thanks!

I have had emails saying, "your product has shipped", when I clearly didnt order anything from said company. No funds drawn so I guess its just a new form of dumb advertizing.

could be that they put in the wrong email. Or sometimes stores ask for your info, they could have gave them a fake/wrong email.

Thanks. No activity on the Bank account. I went to the store's website and they say if you received an e-receipt for something you didn't purchase it is probably human error, i.e. a salesperson typed in the wrong e-mail address for whatever reason.

Any detail on what was purchased? If it's inline with your wants and needs you might be a sleep shopper!
AutoRoc is prob right, I get those emails also.

That's more ideal to a "product" if someone has a sleep behavior disorder [REM]. Deformula's orders for sensual stimulation novelty devices might be unrelated to any conditions :icon_razz

Post a screen shot of the "receipt" if doesn't have any personal info on it.
I bet it won't. It is most likely a scam. Think about it, its a great way to get
you to reply.

I too have received a few of these in the last several months - all scams.

I had a similar thing happen to me. I ordered a pair of sunglasses from Amazon 6 or so months ago. I received the order with no issues. Apparently, they came from a 3rd party shipping company that ships from China. Somehow they put my name and address as the return name and address so I've been getting glasses, purses, then last week a toy gun. Amazon says they can't send a return label because they didn't ship the items and they have no contact info for the company. I checked online and on FB and can't find anything either, so Amazon says to keep or dispose of the items. I get surprise "gifts" weekly.. Lol

LOL yeah the product listed is "maine men's" Not sure what that is and don't want to know. It cost 12.60 British pounds.

It could be a scam or phishing scam but there is no contact info other than the store name in England. Apparently it's a chain over there named Debenham's. Probably like Nordstrom's is my guess. I just plan to keep an eye on my accounts but otherwiswe forget about it.

That's actually awesome. I'll take a pair of sunglasses, non-polarized please!

Usually just a mis-entered email address. Had the same thing happen to me. Some lady with nearly identical email address must have gotten dyslexic when she entered in her information while booking a week-long stay at a Hawaiian resort. At least I know how much that would cost now
