just got a set of these for my car and to be honest i dont think i can bring myself to put them on my car, they fit like crap. the box they came in (if you want to call it that) was not big enough for them and the covers had white marks in them from being bent. a smashed box inside that was supposed to have a tube of glue in it but didnt :icon_hamm.

they are definitely going back, but after looking around the net it doesn't seem like anyone has had any good luck with them.

should i just pony up for new windows or live with the ugly rubber pitting, or have them send another set.
has anyone here found a better fix?

You can buy this stuff from any body shop supplier, its called "icing". Its like pink bondo in a tube. Put it on the rubber
and sand it down. You can then paint your moldings. Alot of people use this stuff for that. Works great.

I guess I should add that your windows should be taken out if your gonna do this.

If they are not that bad you can also use a high build primer in a rattle can. Few coats sand.rinse repeat untill desired results. Paint with trim paint, or like my trim is just flat black.

Fix them. These are mine. Don't have befores, but they were typical crappy 150k fox body windows.

Yes, the yellow was later sanded and flat black painted to the factory specs. I wanted a good sealed paint on the body before I put some trim black over it. The grey in the corner of the window is primer on the glass. You have to carefully scrape it off with a razoe blade later on.

This was a lot of primer, sanding, and more primer. Then I put a few coats of trim black and a few coats of a "SEM Low Luster Clearcoat" over it. I have found that if you do not clear them, they will bubble up later on due to temp changes and washing the car. Seal the rubber and the paint with some of this clear. You have to buy it at an automotive paint supplier, not Orielys or Autozone.

i dunno.....i think it's easier to just go grab another nos set that's lying around and just pop 'em in.....:dunno:
