Rear End Questions

Alright guys, I need some help with what I need to order to get my rear end set up correctly. The car is a 94 gt, I'm upgrading now to support my needs for a while as I'm only HCI right now. My plan is to keep the 8.8 housing, and use a 33 spline eaton tru-trac diff.

From what I've gathered, the splines are cut specifically to run moser axles. Now that's no issue, it is what it is, but where I'm finding conflicting issue is how to run brakes with c-clip eliminators. I know with strange c-clip kits they sell ones that have caliper mounting brackets right on them. Moser c-clips on the other hand do not. I'm sure I can run moser axles with strange c-clips but will it leak because of differences in the OD of axles compared to the ID of the c clip bearings?

If worse comes to worse, I guess I can chop a section out of my backing plate to slip over the backside of the axle flange but I'd like to not have to resort to that.

Any advice or insight is greatly appreciated!

you have a few options

on my 95gt i ran aerospace rear brakes which were designed to be used with c clip eliminators and came with the brackets that slipped over the axle

i just put sn95 brakes on my 87 and i just cut the brackets and slipped them over the axle it seems to be working great so far

there is a company that makes a new bracket that works as well from northracecars.com, but its rather expensive

here is a link i followed to the install with cutting the brackets

If a car has rear disk brakes then doesn't this eliminate the need for C clip eliminators?

I'm putting on c-clip eliminators so axles are easier to pull out, and I'm not entirely positive if I can use c-clips with the diff i'm getting.

Cooll, my buddy just did this with a ranger to convert to rear disc brakes, I wasn't entirely sure about the entire integrity of the set up but I'm sure it will be fine. I just wish I knew if I could run the strange c clips with moser axles lol
