ok.... sorry guys but this one really drives me nuts......what the hell is wrong with advertising integrity?!?!? have you seen Chebbis new truck campaign?!?!?

This is what my Tax dollars went to?!?!? Insulting my intelligence?!?!

1. How many ALUMINUM bodied Hummer H1's did GM build?

2. what is the frame of the NEW Z06 corvette made of?!?!?

3. Perhaps GM should stop making fiberglass-Sheet molded composite - plastic -urethane bodied cars... you know because its not as safe as STEEL.

4. Why the hell would we make aircraft out of aluminum (you know the form of transportation that travel at 500+ miles an hour) for the past 70+ years if it wasent strong enough?!?!? ever repair aluminum?!?!? the shit is WAY EASIER to work with and MUCH easier on tools!!! I'd rather use the same drill bit a couple 1,000 times to drill out a aluminum rivet than a spotweld cutter that is dead after 10-15 spot welds.

5. apparently GM doesn't realize that BOTH the "beer can" ford and Chebbie have met the 5-star crash impact standards.

6. I recently read that GM was IN FUCKING talks with Alcoa to Procure enough Aluminum to produce the 2018 pickups.....

I can see why Cadillac fired Cambell-Ewald recently...... perhaps the rest of GM marketing AND Cambell-Ewald can find their integrity somewhere........

Rant off/

The funny thing is, aluminum pickup trucks almost have to be coming in the future for GM. CAFE standards are probably going to necessitate it.

The first time I heard/seen the new commercials I wondered "what are they going to say when they make an aluminum pick up truck". Stupid commercials! Of course the American public has the memory of a gnat some most probably won't remember. :shake:

Its working though f150 sales are down from last year

I think there is more to it than that.

Many people are holding off to buy an aluminum truck because they want to wait and see how things pan out. I cant really blame them. Between that and the 40-almost 70k price tag on some of these trucks, you really need to wait it out so the previous model year discounts/incentives pop up. I would never want to pay full price for a new truck and sure as heck wouldnt want to spend 50k on something that completely new unless I could see all of the R&D/durability testing. (speaking as a consumer)

Exactly. I think GM just got caught with their pants down on this one so they're scrambling to discredit it any way that they can. Nobody expected Ford to "try out" aluminum on their #1 product. When GM finally tries to catch up, the tune will change.

Kansas City Assembly Plant needed to ramp down production of 2014s, retool, and then ramp up production of '15s. Ask Trunk how hard it's been to get '15s relative to demand. They're selling as fast as the two plants can make them.
