Ranger gauges

My 86' Ranger's gauges will not read correctly. The gauges that are affected are the gas, oil pressure, and water temp. They all hang down in the 1/4 mark and lower but i know that $10 gets more than 1/8 of gas and my motor is running hotter than its showing. Any ideas?
 
Well does it still do it after the car gets warm? You could just have a bum gauge. Don't know exactly where the water pump and the oil pressure sending unit is at?
 
you can test the guages by grounding the signal wire if the guage is good it will peg full or hot or full pressure. if not its probably a sensor or some other wiring issue
