Random Thought Of The Day 10-2-06

Body art isn't the same as it was back in the day. How many tramp stamps did you see in the 1900's?

I will agree with you there. I will say that tramp stamps are nothing but trendy. I don't think mine is trendy though....atleast not why I got it. Sure many people have tribal sun tattoo's....but a lot of them have it because it "looks cool". I have mine for other reasons.

I would say that people who get tatoo's without a true reason, can be really trendy.

I have 8 tattoos, soon to have 2 short sleeves, because I too own a professional co. and its in the medical field so I wouldnt want to give potential clients the wrong idea about our co. or myself...and yes you do have to repect what people think if you work with the public...

I like when somebody with tats where white dress shirts and you can totally tell that they are tatted out, I mean whats the point of trying to cover it up if it doesnt work, just like people that bandaid there piercings i mean who has really been cut above the eye there?
Those people need to buy better quality shirts. That thin cheap shit isn't something I would even use to clean the wheels on my daily driver.

Seems like the nicest "sleeve" style tats come over alot of time. Not just in a few sittings. I like the ones that have about 30 diferent tats in them that were just accumulated over years, JJ has some really nice work there IMO.
Quality of work depends on the person who does the work, not necessarily the amount of time the sleeve took. I have seen MANY sleeves that took years to get done and they looked like shit. Just a bunch of different shit that didn't flow together at all. But yes, JJ has some sick work done!!

If you didnt wanna be "the guy with all the tattoos" they make long tshirts that make you look like your sleeved.
That's just gay. The best part of a tattoo is the pain of getting it put on. Believe it or not, it's quite addicting. I have 4 good sized tattoos now and always want more.

I'm willing to bet that the dudes from that era would say, "NOT ENOUGH!!!"

I agree with that but at my old job i was told to take out my earings which is no big deal but how come i cant have my plugs in but my boss has 1 tooth and black gums? I was told it was unappealing...hmm

I wish tattoos were more acceptable, but they are not. I have both of my elbows done, and I get some strange looks here and there for sure. I have two others that are easily covered by a t-shirt but the elbows were my first venture past the shirt line. From the time I got them done, peoples perception of me changed almost immediately.

Gauging from my own experience I always tell people thinking about sleeves to get something smaller that goes past the shirt line first. Something that can be worked into your sleeve, and discuss with the artist when he does the smaller piece that you are considering sleeves and this would be tied in. The stares and looks don't bother me, but to some they may. Just my .02 on the matter.

HAHAHA. I'd probably never wear shirts with sleeves on them (unless I'm at work) if I had inked sleeves. I would encourage the looks and when I saw someone staring I would look right at them with a crazy look on my face and yell, "I WILL KILL YOU, MOTHER FUCKER!!!!"

I'm not a big guy at all, but I've had more than a few people tell me that they were intimidated by me until they got to know me. Of course I ask why, and the first thing they say is, "you all tattooed up and ....". I have two tattoos that can be seen, so naturally thats funny as hell to me.

Why are people intimidated by tatoos? I never understood that.

tramp stamps are the best.... nothing says "aim here" like a tramp stamp.
