I had a recent business trip and got to take some photos of interesting scenery.

Looking down on part of the city of Grenoble.

There's a cable car that goes up the south end of the Chartreuse mountain range (Mt Rachais) to the Bastille. This location was used to control the city of Grenoble in the 19th century.

Looking down on the city. The long straight road is allegedly the longest continuous straight road in Europe at 12km.

Went to the Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland. Ended up being a bit of a bust because the weather was crap and we were there kind of early not staying for the late night concerts. Beautiful lake and scenery though.

Decided to take a road trip to Chamonix and go up to see Mont-Blanc. This was from the road on the way there.

The place is like a cross between a base-camp and a tourist trap.

At this level you need to bring the right gear. About 100 people die on this mountain each year.

Mont Blanc is the peak on the right. It looks close but it's about another 1000 meters up from where I took this picture.

There's a glass box you can stand in and look down. It's a 1000 meter drop underneath. They call it "step in to the void". The first step in to this is a bit difficult.
