R/C car people, question(s)

My speed control is fine. Removed to use 8s.
Shock towers fine.

Shock shafts can snap. I had one. Traxxas replaced it.

Diffs were breaking on 8s and it's part of throttle control. Don't land under full power. IMO

It's s back flip machine.
On demand wheelies.

We should have a Motown RC outing!

I like that idea.

It would be a blast. Bring your kids if you have kids, family fun.

We were at the local indoor dirt track tonight for an hour and I think my boys broke stuff five times each. I never even got to go watch them. To be fair, there was a race tonight and the real die hard racers just end up pummeling the kids cars while they practice. So I guess it's our own fault, but I told them we had to leave because they were cutting into my chrome fund on my car and barstool.

Where do you guys go? We only have Larry's indoor around us. I need to get my junk up and running then hit the track.

Addictive in grand blanc. RC clubhouse in warren

My sons friend owns Addictive in Grand Blanc. Real deal full size dirt track with the drivers on a deck 20' above the track. If you go on Sunday, it's open track day and not real busy. Much more fun if the pros aren't there because they kinda pulverize our cars because they are so aggressive. We aren't pro racers, just love running them and getting mesmerized by how high the jump and fly.

We used to go to Rider's track back in the day. My cousin worked for them on the weekends and we would help/watch with the track design for that week/month.. I miss the smell of that traction compound that they would put on foam tires.

This is what happens when you really get into it... you go 1/1 Scale.. when he is leading a race, the announcers talk about how his ONLY race experience was with R/C cars... Great driver, smooth is fast.

There's an outdoor track in Hines Park, not sure what shape it's in.

I just picked up a Traxxas Slash 4x4 brushless as my first real R/C to mess around the empty lots around me. Any recommendations on upgrading to lipo batteries and charges? It sounds like I should stick with 2S but I'm not sure where to even start.

Fuck dat!!

3s!!!

Eventually you'll need real axles I used MIP. Don't bother with fronts.

And a wheelie bar. On demand wheelies and it will actually take some flight. Air gets under the body and up up and away.
Stock tires BLOW too. Proline wheels and tires. Literally anything is better than stock. They are way too hard

I sold my 4x4 slash. Wish I never did.

Smc racing and spc racing are some good online battery sources.
Don't buy traxxas, way over priced.
I buy from nankin. They really take care of me. Ypsilanti store on washtenaw. They have chargers too and will recommend what fits the budget. Their prices are surprisingly good too.

We made the mistake of going to Addictive tonight to watch the pros run. They had a sanctioned race so people were there from all over the place. Went to watch!!, but walked out owning a TLR 3.0 full comp. 2wd buggy. Someone wanted to let one of theirs go. IMG_5939.JPG

If I run mine on the 3s, it will actually kite. You have to relieve the air from under the body by opening some vents in the bed area or rear window. It also helps the jumping performance.

I might be interested in selling a few. I have a perfect 4x4 slash that has all the latest and greatest updates to it. It's a shelf queen right now.

Have some other stuff I might move too to make room for some pro cars.
