found a decent deal on a 30ish gallon air compressor , its an older unit , has a howard motor if it helps , 3hp , the plate on the motor says 230v , my question is can I wire it to 110v ? .... I know some of the newer plates on the motors will say 110/220v or something along those lines , just don't want to waist my money if I cant use it

motor number is 5065-01603-103z

If the plate says 230, then its 230.
it may offer 110/220, but it would also say that.

Run a 220 line, it pretty simple if you have the space in the panel.

If it only says 230V then it can only run on 230V. The newer motors that say 110/220 is because they can be run on both.

figures lol

how hard would it be to swap a 110v motor on it and would it be worth it ? ,., normally I would run a 220 line but this is a rental house and its in my contract not to

I am surprised that the contract doesn't have language in place that would prevent the need for such equipment.
no , hes mainly just worried about altering anything , we discussed before I even moved in that I was a gear head and would have projects in the garage from time to time , he was cool with it
