Here's the deal, I have a 2wd 92 Ranger, plan on picking up a 91 4x4 Ranger, and swapping mine over to 4x4. I also have a 350 4 bolt ready to go. Anyone ever swap, or know of mounts for this conversion?
Thanks
A small block Chevy in a Ranger? I doubt anyone makes mounts for that, but I'm someone makes them for a SBF to go in. I know that their are kits for the S-10's to drop SBC's in though.
a friend used to do it all the time. he said the sbc fit better in the ranger than a s10. I went to school with his stepdaughter. she drove a ext cab ranger with a 400hp sbc. If I get time I will call him
all of his were 2wd though
I saw a Ranger a few years ago at Milan, it said on the tailgate. Built Ford tough, with Chevy stuff, and the damn thing flew. It will be mainly a dune truck, so I may save myself some trouble, and keep it 2wd and just do a pre runner lift on it.
I've seen a SBC in a Ranger, years ago when I was swapping in a 302 into mine. The guy said it was alot smaller than the SBF. Just keep in mind the the trans tunnel is not real big on the ranger, something to think about when you do the swap.
I did it back in 92 or 93, and still remember a few things. If you need any advice just let me know and I'll see if I can help. You may want to do a search for L&L out of Texas, they used to make some swap parts.
