Putting a LS1 into a Chevy s-10??

If I was able to get a LS1 bought what do you guys think it would cost to put it in my 98 S-10?? We're thinking about selling the trans am and building the s-10. Putting a LS1 in, rebuilding the trans and both axles, getting a paint job, putting a system in, etc.

What do you guys think it would cost though to do this??
 
im 8k deep and not even close yet :D that does include the motor, trans, and harness, but that wasn't even 2k of it. it requires heavily modifying your front crossmember, I think you could do it for 6-8k (swap only)
 
I want to find one already done so I can just have it :lol: Screw all that money, let someone else take the big hit, I'll make it my own by myself :lol:
 
that was a lot of work. Custom mounts. custom front brackets. custom headers. It ended up with a 422 stroker. the guy blew out the cylinder the first time he sprayed it. but it ran better with a stock 5.3.....

Jeremy??? Damn this whole time I never knew this was you, btw How is Dean these days? or do you not work there any more?
 
Yep.... The engine was from texas motorsports. The cylinder walls looked like spider webs after about 3000 miles. Hack jobs in Texas. I haven't worked for Dean in like 6-7years.
 
i am putting a old style 355 and a t56 combo into my 98 s-10. i am about 5000k into it and not done yet. i have to still run fuel lines ,get a driveshaft, wire up msd, run clutch lines and linkage get a carb and some other odds and ends things. i have not looked at mine for about 7 minths now. i had to have a custom trans crossmember made and have the crossmember under the motor notched and boxed off (all done by diamond fabrication) a lil bit of modification needed to be done to the bottom of my firewall for header clearance. here is my cardomian page but there is not alot of pics on the drop itself.

There is a Sonoma on LS1tech with an LS6/T-56 for $8500 right now. Go buy that :drool: I'd love to if I knew I was gonna be ok financially when I get back from AZ
