It sounds like you and your friend need to go see Dave to see if you can come to a resolution to your issues. I can only tell you from my experience with Team Z that they did everything they could to help me with mine.
I am curious though, if this is a friend of yours car. Why didn't he listen to you about your concerns with Team Z and go ahead and buy a AJE piece?? I believe it was you that had nothing bad to say about their K member if I remember correctly. Either way good luck and I will get you those photos as soon as I have a few spare moments.
 
My motor with the victor Jr. and Pro-Systems carb will still fit under a stock hood if I had one.

Are you sure about that ???????? it might with the vic jr intake...... right now my LS motor in my fox Mustang sits about 1 1/4 inches lower then your motor and i have AJE.....You have the new 2nd design k-member where the motor sits higher.......not the first one...

if you check from the pinch seem on the fire wall to the top of the vally cover you should get about 7 1/8.........like these other guys are that have the 2nd design.....

If these guys where my friends they wouldn't be having problems.......just trying to help some guy on car forums..
 
I apologize then. When Dave had my car he fabbed up the new LS K member and trans X-member to my car. I was fortunate to have zero issues with fitment with those two items.

I know he had asked me what I thought the most used transmissions were when running the ls motor. I told him I was running the Th-350 and that most guys run the 4L60E/80E combo. I am sure if they contact him and explain there issues he will try and handle them as professionally as possible. I have no Idea what trans is physically larger or smaller than the next. I am not a trans guy, just a guy with a car that I enjoy working on. I hope these guys get the K member stuff figured out. Mine doesn't seem to be on any wrong issue or anything. I could be wrong but it all went together fairly painlessly and I am happy with the products I used from Team Z...
 
As it sits now. Hood needs Dzus fasteners and fitted but once I get it back from wiring I will button up all the small stuff and get it running!
 
It's getting there, should be running by months end. Then some garage time and hopefully out by Milanese first day!
 
Off to wiring she goes....should have it back in a couple weeks for finishing up. Can't wait to finally drive this thing.
