Project Ressurection

Let me first start off by saying that this project would not have gotten started if it had'nt been for great friends! I will be putting this thing together with the help of some of you and the support of my wife. My goal for this build is to have a very solid and reliable street car that is fun to drive and will be a great thing to share with my daughter and friends on the weekends. The car will be powered by a LS1 with heads/cam/intake by Advanced Induction and the trans is undecided as of now.

Let me give you a little history on the coupe. When I first started building my hatchback I was fortunate enough to meet up with a fella by the name of Shawn here in Carleton. With his help and his partner in Street Legal Motorsports Scott I built a very solid running strip car. During that time I spent quite a few nights over at the shop and was honored to meet a guy you all might know by the name of Rob Hastings. Rob was building this coupe and a very nasty little sbf to go in it. Well in his later 40's Rob passed away, leaving behind kids and a wife. So in his honor I named the project: Project Ressurection

The car had been left outside for sometime and had a lot of tree sap on the entire car that took days to remove. I had removed the quarter windows and redid them as well. trying to get the car looking good now, and as soon as the fundsare available the drivetrain will be going in. Car will have 5 lug on all four corners and disk brakes out back.

For those who have done this swap before, I will be looking for your help here very soon on what parts to buy and what parts to stay away from. I will be asking a ton of questions in this thread so please check back frequently.

Thanks and enjoy

Nathan

The underside was blasted and painted as well. I have to weld up the holes I cut in the front frame rails as well. It wasnt that bad but I wanted to cut them so they had good solid metal to weld to. I will keep pics coming as soon as progress is made.

Thanks Joe, Im sure it wont be as nice as yours. I am trying to piece together the interior so if anyone has anything grey they want to sell or get rid of, I am in the market for all of it.
Nice looking project, good luck Nathan!

Very cool project! I wish I could get my Camaro going again, been almost 8 years now since I drove it.

Not too hard of a swap you have there. I know the electrical side of it if you have any questions!

The car will be coming your way as soon as the drivetrain is in. I need lights(front and rear) fan, msd 6010, and a few extras. I am not messing with wiring anymore.
