Project: Broke "N" Nimble

:gossip: Well the cat has been out of the bag for a while but it is time to make it official. Since selling my 92 coupe due to financial reasons only to land a decent job a few weeks later it is time to move on.

A good friend of mine picked up a 89 coupe for a decent price a while back and decided shortly after to get out of the car game for a while. He offered me a great deal on this gem/junk and passed along great fenders and a decent door to replace the dented door that is currently roosting on the passenger side.

I have had little time to work on it as of yet but have decent plans for a track only, family fun toy that should be ready for test passes late next season.

The plans:

The shell will be gutted and lightened, mini tubed, 12 point 1 5/8" moly with thru floor frame times (hopefully 25.5 certified or easily converted). Reinforced upper and lower torque boxes, coil over rear suspension and a very stout 8.8 rear with strange internals and brakes.

Front suspension will consist of Team Z full K member/front suspension with strange brakes, Flaming River manual rack and steering shaft, bump steer and a few other goodies.

The Drive train will consist of a small cubic inch Windsor, Canfield heads (mildy ported) Victor SR. inkake and most of the top end off my old combo.

I will post up pictures of the ugly turd in the next couple days. Today i just had some free time so i thought I would share what i have so far and take it from there.

Thanks for reading, soon there will be something to view.

Cool looks to be in decent shape..

Thanks Sky for posting the pictures. I will update with a few new more tonight.
I just started stripping the interior and the front clip. I also removed the front bump mounts and a bit of clutter from the engine compartment.I should have it totally stripped by the end of next week and then I will start the fram ties and wheel tubs. No rush though I have to put away some money to get things going further.

I am look for opinions on what color to paint the firewall and floorpan. I am thinking a lighter color gray or maybe even white. Being I have not settled on a color for the body I thought that would be neutral. Opinions ???

A few before and half way through the 1/4 panel repair. It was a donor parts off another stang, I was lucky to be able to make it an exact fit. The whole rear section from the wheel well to the rear valance was rotten from the molding down. I also had to patch in a small section of the wheel well itself.

SORRY FOR THE CRAPPY CELL PHONE PICTURES !!!!!!!

Slow progress but things are getting accomplished...

Well it certainly has been a while since I have updated but here are a few semi up to date pictures of the "street" car. Enjoy; comments, advice, opinions and questions are always welcome. I will post a few more as I manage to download them and size them correctly. Thanks for viewing.
