Been thinking about grabbing some to automate things with my phone, any ones in particular I should get? I want to disable wifi on my phone when I walk out the door and turn my ringer/notification volumes up plus some other things like enabling Smart Lock and Bluetooth and such.
They were perfectly fine in and of themselves. I don't think I would use NFC in the future again though. Granted I used Trigger instead of the much more advanced Tasker, but there were a lot of things that didn't work or didn't work reliably, possibly due to my model of phone and the inability to root. In the future I would use Tasker and use combinations of criteria to initiate changes. I can't think of too many examples at the moment, but it is way more powerful and specific than NFC. For starters, you don't have to remember to unlock the phone and hover over the tag to trigger it. Can be based upon connecting or disconnecting from a specific ssid, within range of particular ssid, gps location, specific Bluetooth connection, combination of these, etc. All done through scripting.
