Stinger1982

Stinger1982 is the Stig
We are out at Miller Motorsports Park just outside Salt Lake City Utah for the Grand Am Season Finale and the NASA (National Auto Sport Association) Nationals. While out here we met up with Wes Duenkel (pro photog that is in 5.0 and MM&FF all the time) and we took a few beauty shots of the new #50 2011 Mustang 5.0 American Iron race car that we built in house at Rehagen Racing.

For complete details on the build and a ton of build progress pictures click here:

Now on to the eye candy!

meh, its always the same stuff, Rehagen Racing builds a great car, and Wes Duenkel takes some amazing photos of it ;)

Shaun, tell the guys I said good luck this weekend for nationals, and wish I could be there....

driver cooling? are those electronic or liquid....very cool

Both actually. Water is cooled in the box on the floor of the car, and pumped through tubes/bladder sewn into a shirt the driver wears, working like a radiator on the driver's torso.
The box in the car, 986 has two different versions, one that just uses ice to cool the water, and one that uses an electronic system (basically uses a peltier effect) to cool the water.

The ice systems are very effective, but don't usually last long. With thier electronic cooler, it stays cool for as long as it gets power, which makes a HUGE difference in longer races, especially endurance racing like we do in Grand-Am.
