Prayers needed for my dog

losing a dog is like losing a family member... when i had to put mine down i was devistated... they are in a better place now... rip otis... sorry for your loss

Really sorry to hear that man, Ootis is'nt alone, im sure he will be seeing my dads dog that just passed yesterday night.

I know your pain man, I lost a dog, when at the time was alive all of my life I remember. (5ish - 18yo). A very sad time.

I will say one thing though. Get another dog! I know you say no one will replace him, but you will get the same "playful and spunkiness" out of another puppy that you can grow old with.

Take this one for example, he would love to be playing with you right now!!!

I am all over getting another dog and right away. I still have my other Boxer Chuie but he is "the wifes" dog more than mine. I need another best buddy.

That little guy in the picture is breaking my HEART! And I could pick him up Saturday. Thanks a lot for the link.

And thanks everyone else for their support. This one hurts a lot.:icon_frow

RIP puppy. :( Sorry to hear he is gone, but you did the right thing. It would be even worse to have him alive and watch him suffer. God Bless.

Trying not to cry here at work thinking of my two at home. (probably still sleeping those little bastards  ) Sorry to hear about your loss. :(

I'm so sorry for your loss.

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

I would like to thank everyone who had my Ootis in their prayers today. Unfortunately the final diagnosis was advanced Lymphoma of the liver and spleen. The Oncologist, trusted family Vet, good friend Dr Addison Tarr and my family decided that putting him through Chemotherapy would only serve to make us feel better and not Ootis. Obviously Ootis’s well being and daily quality of life far outweighs how much we will miss him. At 5:15pm today we put him down. When he slid into what I hope is a wonderful journey for him he was surrounded by all of his loved ones.

Ootis was the best dog anyone could wish for. He was caring, cuddly, spunky and always seemed to know when to clown it up. Over the past two years I have had some issues with depression because of the collapse of my business in 2006. I know it sounds crazy but Ootis helped me through it ever day. When I dearly needed a friend to just be there for me and give me a hug when I was feeling down Ootis always stepped up to the plate. When I was sitting on the couch feeling sorry for myself he was always there to drop toys in my lap so we could play. I’m going to miss his silly smile, his crooked ears, his goofy run and his absolute insistence that when it was bedtime he got to get under the blankets.

Since the day I got him I have spent every minute possible with him. He was my best pal. No dog will ever be able to replace him and he will always be missed more than words could possibly express.

Gods speed Ootis. I love you.

Man, Im so sorry to hear about your loss. I have 3 dogs, which I love as if they were my kids. Keep your head up my friend

Aw man. Very sorry to hear. RIP Otis. :( I had a dog for 18 yrs and it is never easy when they go. But like they say, another one will keep you busy and fill the void. I have 2 now and they drive me nuts but I am still happy to see them when I get home.
