Post some SBF Mustang here.

OOHHH BOY don`t get me going lol
My stock factory LS block with stock factory crank,, stock factory rods,, untouched LS factory heads with factory rocker arms,, factory lifters,, factory timing chain and gears,, crank driven water pump with a mild hydrolic cam with 4 mufflers and pump gas with a carb went 9.61 on motor.....9.10`s with a 100 shot letting off early........lets see a stockish sbf do that...on motor....

my sbf would fuck that ls up and u can spray it still. Hows that

Haha, ya I agree with ya ^^^^^. These guys don't have stock anything. My friend has a STOCK LS engine in a 3400lb car with a cam swap(hydraulic roller), aftermarket intake, carb, headers, and that's it. It goes mid 10's all day long getting upper teens for mileage driving 80 miles to and from the track. Nothing changed at the track except adjusting air pressure a little on his radials. So I'm to believe a stock 302 with a cam change, intake, carb and headers is gonna make 550hp?? Didnt think so.

with an auto trans aswell. dont forget that!

ls engines are growing on me but ill still take a sbf all day.
I've always been a sbf guy aswell, but im going to give the ls a shot. I've read so much on ls1tech and everything guys are building seem to be flying. I've never seen a factory sbf with a cam swap and 150 shot go 9 Anything lol Worth a shot in my book

Ford hasn't put a sbf in a mustang sense... 1995. I've watched a few coupes with bone stock 96-98 cobra motors and s-trims go mid 9's. the ls engine is a great.. but it's also a lot more advanced than the 60's ford technology you're comparing it too.. Look at modern ford platforms.. I've watched ford gt's go almost 240 mph with stock long blocks.. countless 8 second 03-04 cobras with stock long blocks. shelby's making upwards of 800-1000 hp. now the new 5.0 stomping a mud hole in gm's ass...

So how many oem Ford parts you got ?

Please don't forget you took basically a supercar (z06) engine, then modified that, to run what you ran. We could put a Ford GT engine and a smaller pulley in a fox and go 8s.

Your engine was a high compression, 427cid, with a carb and aftermarket ignition, etc. You can go 9's all day with a 427 ford small block....hell the LS is basically a copy of the ford small block but with better heads....and you can get aftermarket SBF heads all day long for cheap.

Don't get me wrong, I love the LS engines and will probably always have one.....but it's definitely not the only way to go fast, and if you're going to put a carburetor and shit on one you might as well keep the SBF in it. Lawn mowers are the only things carburetors are good for.
