Post office rant

I understand that they aren't going to jump through hoops to deliver the mail...just asking for a little leeway and a little extra effort. I have things pop up all the time that are out of the ordinary and require a bit of extra work and effort to accomplish...I'm sure most of us do. What makes them think they can carry on with business as usual when nobody else gets that luxury?

And OK, if you can't deliver the mail, I understand. I'm not asking someone to trudge a mile up a waste-deep pile of snow to deliver a credit card offer. I'll come to the post office and pick it up myself. But FUCK YOU if you give me attitude there, too. Don't try to make me feel bad because I didn't ALSO shovel a path for you...I'm making your job as easy as possible...you don't even have to get me my mail, I'm coming to you. Fuck, if they would just put it on a pile with a sticky note I'd just grab it myself and eliminate them entirely.

I don't think I've ever seen you this pissed off, not even when inconsiderate fucks were messing up your weddings plans I don't think you were this angry LOL

Shit, at one time, I was ordering so much shit the Fedex and UPS drivers went out of the way to hide stuff in my BBQ grill or some other out of sight spot on my porch

my old UPS driver knew where the spare key to my garage was to put packages in if it was raining or snowing.

When we had that last big storm in Jan I didnt get mail for 3 days. 3 days! I can see the one day right after it snowed. But after the plow trucks came through that day it should have resumed the next day. Not so much.

I guess I'm lucky. I have an awesome mailman. The guy must but close to 60 and has no issues walking our neighborhood. He delivers whether the path to the mailbox is clear or not. Mailman John > your USPS employee.

They can get to my box, but they have to back up to get to the next one. I would just get a bag 50lb bag of calcium chloride and dump on the pile around the box. Go out an 1hr later with a metal spade and clear a cubby hole back to your box. Leave a note that says "I can get my mail without leaving my car so you must not be very good at your job or too overweight to reach my box."

Sadly I still get my neighbors mail in my box consistently and my mail carrier is super friendly when I get the chance to talk to her but she is super air headed. Sadly enough my mail box got taken out by the plow truck, when I called the county they said I had to prove that the plow damaged my box and not the snow from it. I have the Rubbermaid bendable won't break box and I found in 3 pieces one morning. The county said there was no proof that it was the plow that touched it. So I know have it wedged in the snow bank and being held together with deck screws.

Yeah, I was expecting the city to tell me the same thing, so I stopped to take pictures of the 6 houses next to me that were all down too.
City didn't even ask for proof.

I thought about this thread yesterday as i was shoveling out my driveway. For some stupid reason, all the homes on my street have their mailbox on a community spread in my yard, except for one neighbor who has their box by itself on the other side of my driveway. So I've made it so the pile under that particular box keeps her truck several feet away from it. I was out yesterday shoveling and waiting for her to start bitching at me to clear a spot for her but much to my chagrin she never said a word and did her job. I guess i have good mail carriers.
