... actually a pretty smoking deal ...
There'd definitely be a lot of smoke involved before I spent $6K on a PC.

In all seriousness though, they look like bad ass machines.

LOL I meant compared to trying to build a comparable machine from another manufacturer or DIY. I think the base configs are $2999?

Yep, and that is all professional level equipment in there. Xeon CPUs and AMD FirePro video cards. For your typical websurfer, it's way overkill. If you do more system intensive tasks, such as video editing or graphic design, it's the right tool for the job.

Crossbreed make some great holsters. I love mine for my .45
I hope so, I have another 10 business days before it is even shipped but reading on the process of how they make them it will be worth the wait. I just want something that is going to fit the glock and then I can carry more comfortably.

I just wanna watch porn... in 4K... on two monitors....

Sounds like nothing has changed since these were boat anchors in the late 90's.

The big difference now is Apple purchased the components in such a large volume and passed the discount on to the consumer. They really are in rare form on the Pro as far as pricing goes. I've spec'd out machines of similar capabilities, and the price was almost always higher. A few years ago, you could get more for your money building a PC with the same components, but they have closed the gap on this run. Of course you can choose regular desktop components and build something with as much power, but using the exact same components as what comes in the Mac Pro, you'll be hard pressed to find a better deal.

I am still on the fence about buying one. My i7 2700k just isn't cutting the mustard these days. Benchmarks show even going to a 4820k, I'm not gaining more than 10-15%. Seems Xeon is the only way to pick up serious gains.

I've had mine for 4 years and not one complaint.

When I ordered it said February shipment but it already shipped on the 30th so it should be here by Monday. Prior one served well for the last 6 years.

That's good news. I've waited because of the late February delivery but I'll order up tomorrow. Did you custom config or just pick one of the 2 base models?

I just ordered the pre-configured 6-core. Not sure if that played a role in the accelerated shipment time, but it definitely did say February shipment when I ordered. Was a pleasant surprise when the e-mail popped up saying it was shipped shortly thereafter.
