Face lifted the Burb, new fascia. Blacked out the grill chrome, bowtie, and LED fogs. New chin spoiler too.

Pro Tip (not really, I'm no Pro) but you can use your TIG torch for heating stuff up when you're out of OxyAcetlyne. [emoji3]

Just make sure you wear welding sleeves or you'll give yourself a hella sunburn.

This is all theory, it's not like I just did this for real, hypothetically 2 weeks ago removing busted exhaust studs off 95 Camaro manifolds...

I weld professionally and occasionally use the torch also lol. It all depends. But sometimes I’ll light it and wave across it a few times slow and then hold it on my start for 20 seconds before I increase amp’s high enough to melt and go.

I don't know how you guys can afford to buy welders right now. I was all set to buy a new Dynasty 400 April 2021 and ITW/Miller raised the prices by $2k in March 2021. It's only gone up since then. I see it's $10,900 and it used to be $7200 two years ago.

How have you felt about Noveske stuff, on average? I have never had any of their whole rifles, never even seen one in person, but I do like their attention to detail on the bits that matter and have procured many a pieces. Kind of why I like V7/former Noveske employee... attention to detail.

If it wasn't clear from all the guns I post... I love it. haha The fit and finish is incredible, the barrels have always been precision stuff. Only draw back is they're a bit gassy, esp when you suppress them. But the shit just runs and it stupid accurate.

The completes dont feel like a collection of parts, they feel like a complete rifle.

I've wanted a TIG welder for years. I was a MIG welder working for BDS suspension for a while, then another company making scaffolding. TIG was always a dream that I couldn't afford. I made a career change just over a year ago that nearly tripled my annual income. So I decided to make the dream come to life. Especially because as you've said, the prices are only going up more and more by the day. I got the Lincoln SquareWave 200 for $2,626.43 to my door from Amazon. Grabbed 10lbs of 4043 3/32 filler and a 10 pack of blue 3/32 tungsten too. Gives me plenty of supplies to get started. The welder came with a number 7 cup. I've debated getting a variety pack of cups to try but I think I'll wait until I've got the basics down.

I had full intentions of just buying an Aero lower to start a "simple" rifle build. This one was sitting on the shelf marked as "Used" but I'd bet it's only had maybe a mag thru it. Grabbed a 4-12 Leupold for it while I was there. Just gotta get out and enjoy it now. It's quite different compared to my budget ATI pistol. Both of them I need to make the time to get sighted in.

What was damaged on the Cerakote before? I've been dabbling in Cerakote again but with an airbrush this time.... and have almost mastered tungsten and magpul odg. Going to try magpul fde and microslick next. Apparently other than the pearl looking one those are good samples of the hardest colors to paint.

A couple of the mags (those are steel) came loose in shipping and bounced around. Put some dings in it and chipped some cerekote. The rail had to be completely redone twice. First guy couldnt match the color of the receivers.

I've got a new AR I'd like to get cerekoted if you want something to play with.

I wouldn't hate the idea of doing a different color on my AR pistol. The FDE on my Aero is pretty nice and matches the Magpul FDE pretty close so I'm happy with it.

It's a PITA to match Cerakote. You need to shake it a lot and make sure you use the right size filter. Otherwise the solids don't get mixed in evenly and it changes the color tremendously. And once you've messed up the ratio (by not mixing enough) it will forever haunt you using that can of paint going forward. It can also affect the "matte" of it. I have some magpul odg that came out shiny and darker than it was supposed to be so that was a lesson learned.

I'm still trying to learn the finer parts of using an airbrush with Cerakote. It's easier to do with my auto paint guns (Tekna Prolite) but it's super wasteful. Even with lots of spilling due to my sausage finger hands trying to pour the paint out of a nalgene bottle through a filter into a 3/4 oz paint cup I still use half the paint compared to using my Tekna with the smallest dekups.

Picked up this 2011 Ram 1500 this weekend. Needs some upgrades, but it's the nicest truck I've ever owned.
