Pokemon Game Cards WTF?

A few of them have been selling in the $300k range. Seriously. I have been scouring my stuff all morning to see if I have any good ones. I have some of the Topps foil cards, but they are only worth $50-$100 each. Still, I think I am putting them on ebay soon! I remember selling my (late 70's) baseball cards when prices were peaking in the late 90's, and they are still worth what I sold them for then. I can't imagine these being worth anymore than they are now.

I saw that and it didn't make sense to me. I never did anything with a pokemon card, but when I saw that information, it made me think of gamestop and the whole deal they just did...

I checked my stuff 10 years ago, and it wasn't worth more than $50.. Might have to check again.
When I was in middle school, 2000-01 kids were making $50 - 80 selling cards to other kids. It got banned real quick and the trading stopped for the most part.

I sold that card as a kid, I think for like $20 or something. I doubt it was a first edition like the one on eBay. I still have other Pokemon cards that I found recently and none of them are worth a shit.

Yeah, prices for stuff has gone crazy the last year.

I have an unopened box of Magic the Gathering cards that bought in 2000 for $300.
Tucked it away.
Checked it out recently and could get $14,000 pretty easy for it. Was $1500-2500 in 2017.

Every time I see one of these threads, I kick myself. I had a full MTG alpha release set with multiples of the rares in hard case sealed. Used to play in the early 90's. After high school, I just gave them away to a buddy I played the game with, several large boxes of them. Ugh, stupid brain. lol
