How many cast crank low compression 440s have you pulled out of boats like that & blew up in your race cars? Plenty I'd guess lol.

Back then, the older steel crank motors were still fairly plentiful, so we never bothered with the cast stuff. Hell, we had several hundred 10-second passes on a stock block, crank, and rods 440. It never broke until we started buzzing it 7500 rpm. They were amazingly bulletproof.

I'll bet I've had at least a dozen New Yorkers, Imperials, and even a Hurst 300. Sadly the Hurst was pretty well whooped, so it didn't hang around long. The coolest was my '71 Imp. Awesome car.

I love my 70 Imperial, rust and all. It's my daily driver. I actually sold it then bought it back because I missed it so much
 
Mines not that cool. Or as nice. She's kinda beat up & rusty. I rebuilt the engine, trans & suspension though, so she runs & drives awesome.
