Lets hear more about those!?
What are the stats? Weight, hp, engine, price?

Stats: ~2,000-2,300lbs. The 4 cars there this year were all around 500hp. The kit if you build one yourself starts around $42k and you can buy a roller for $89k. You still need to add an engine and transaxle. These cars are absolutely amazing on the street and the track. They handle with tons of grip. Acceleration and stopping are unreal. And they have set a bunch of records. For example 0-100-0 in 9.8 seconds. Website has more info and I have tons of links to build sites of guys that have built them. I intent to build one someday. Am saving towards it now......

What engines are usually used? Chevy, Ford, VW?:dontknow:
Used to be small block Chevy's, but many guys are now using LSx engines. There are two guys who were there that are building Red Ultima GTR's with the GM LS7 crate engine.

The yellow GTR in the pics from Saturday is Jeff Schwartz's. It is a Twin Turbo'd LS2. He just won the Silver State Classic 0-200-0 challenge and he couldn't even rev it over 4800 rpm due to a computer issue!!!! Next year when that issue is gone he will blow past that statistic!!

There are some other engines out there. In Europe there are a few BMW and Audi Engines. There is a guy with a BMW V12 in Canada. You can pretty much use whatever you want.

Transaxle's are usually a porsche box but some guys are starting to use the ZF transaxles (similar to GT40 replicas).

It all depends upon your budget and wishes for the car. 350hp is plenty for these cars due to their light weight but the sky is the limit if you want more.

Does he go around telling people he has the "power of the Schwartz"?:dontknow:

Sweet looking car, but for that kind of money I'll buy the ZO6 or Blue Devil.:badass:

Ha Ha! I have thought that myself.

I am still sold on the Ultima. It will waaaayyyy outperform the vette. But the vette has more room inside for storage. That is for sure.

Looks like a badass ride.
They are a lot of fun. I have never felt G-forces like in these cars. The acceleration is absolutely amazing and the speedometer just spins up like a jet! Then the brakes haul you back down to reality while you are straining the 6pt harness and barely even in your seat! It was AWESOME!

One of the guys has started taking his to track days and is learning the car. He had a instructor drive his car around Bradenton (sp?) and the guy loved the car. Most of the time these cars set the fast time for the day and on street tires no less. A well prepped track car with track tires will beat it, but not by much.

street legal Go Cart
Pretty much except it is not as stiff as a go-cart. It can still be driven around and enjoyed on the roads. More like street legal race car!! They look a lot like the Daytone Prototype race cars. And handle like them too!!
