This morning on my way to work, I decided to stop and do a little last minute photoshoot of my Mom's 78 Firebird, while I had my Camaro's wheels still on it.

I seriously have to stop going into the AH section before any other section.

I just read this topic as:" Photoshoot of my Mom's Firecrotch"

No offense, just my dirty mind leaking over into the normal world.:hmm:

Nice car BTW

Is that a factory color ? If so, what name did Pontiac assign to that shade of blue in '78 ?

Just wondering, thanks. Looks real nice.

Thanks guys!

Not a fan of the money losin' blue but otherwise

I hate the color as well, but I guess that's why it's my Moms car!

Yes, it is a factory color. My Mom bought the car brand new in 1978. It has 60k miles, and the paint/interior is all original. It has some rust on the bottom, but overall is fairly clean.

I'm not sure of the exact color code, but it is a "Firebird Skybird" which was one of 3 VERY RARE cars. They only made the "Skybird" in 1977 and 1978, then the "Redbird" was made in 1978 and 1979, and then in 1979 and 1980 they made a "Yellowbird"

is that a big block ? my mom had a red 79 some years back nice color

I guess I should have realised this is what I would see since it's not in the AH section. But honestly, I thought of something completely different when I first read the title.

Cougar >> Puma

Fire Crotch >> Fire Bird

Don't know how my brain made that leap, but oh well.
