People using electric water pumps

Do you run a thermostat with your electric water pumps or just a restrictor?

Never used one before not sure if it matters/one way is better than the other.

will thre be too much restriction with a operating stat that could hurt the pump?
 
Restrictor only. Stat will cause too much pressure on the pump and overwork the motor burning bruches and other pasrt prematurely. Either cut out the center of a stat or get restrictors from Moroso. I may have two left from mine when i baught them.
 
I put it together with a restrictor, it just takes a year to warm the fug up even with the pump off. Turn the dang thing on and it cools down fast. I just used a stat and cut the center out using it like a restrictor, might have to make one with a smaller orffice.

I had too small one in last year heated up ok but stayed hot. Put a bigger one in this year can't keep it above 160to 170 and i have a belt driven pump...atleast you can turn yours off.
 
Fred hahahahahah now that guy my friend is a clown...........That turd could not put a ford together to save his house...........If i lived acroos from that stick i would fire shit rockets at his front door........

Anyway streetracing your car is bad ass.....Fred building a motor is like throwing 500 shoot on a small block with 50 deg of timing.....BOOOOOOOOOOM.................HAHAHAHAHAHA

Fred built a motor for me a while ago............He forgot to put one of the oil plugs in the front of the block by the cam.....killed the motor so when i pulled it he said sorry...He built a friend motor and put a 50 damp and a 28 flywheel...the block lasted one pass and split the main cap web....He would come up to Morans and sell tools....O well you learn to late sometimes...........Its funny seeing him at Milan all he can do is walk real fast in the other direction....When you screw to many there is no safe direction to walk, maybe thats why he is not there that often...........


Hope i did not offend you streetracing but Fred has done many people wrong.....I bet if u started a thread of the people he has screwed it would be never ending......
