PCM's for OBD1

I need to test to see if my pcm is faulty. I own a 94z28 with a t56 transmission. I was wondering if I could just pull it out and install it on my cousins 95ta (4l60e) to see if it would start his car, thus verifying if its faulty or not. My computer doesn't have a tune yet for a 6-speed but I dont think that would cause it not to fire.

Also, I'm thinking that my msd may be cooked. Is there a fuse inside of the unit that can be visual checked to see if it popped. I had another fuse inline for my electric water pump that was bad as well so somethings up. By the way, the msd is a 6al.
