How much force does the chute produce when it opens? Is it small enough that pulling on the bottom of the decklid like that going to hold? I can assure you that it wasn't designed for those loads.

the forces are in the bumper bar, the deck lid support is just to hold the chute before deployment.

Dom - is there reason to have the chute mounted on the decklid instead of a standalone on the bumper mount? Are you worried about obstructed plate tickets?

I forgot my chute on the coupe a lot. Never got a ticket, got tailed al lot too.

Mine was mounted off the main tube. Easy to remove ....... When not lazy

biggest reason was I am able to open trunk with ease instead of taking everything off. SK has it so I need to remove the mount to open my trunk. SINCE I have all my battery stuff with electronic...it was just easier. Plus I like the look..
:)

not really worried to much about plate stuff....If I do...I will pull it off to the side or stick in in my back window....not really worried to much

As a former quality liason from The budd company to Ford motor company......... (we manufactured those Decklids and hoods on the new edge stangs) get some BIG body washers for the back side of the mounts......the more you can spread out the load....the less chance of de-lamination....
