Just thought I'de share some samples of some stuff I've painted.

All the pics can be viewed thrugh this link. http://s22.photobucket.com/albums/b302/Systemax302/Paint%20Work/

I tried posting them into the thread and it just kept showing up as a white box with a red X inside it and no image. If anyone can tell me how to fix that problem that would be cool also.

I will be posting pictures of a friends Artic Cat helmet I painted last winter also as soon as I track down the pictures of it.

Id know that building anywhere. Thats WCC's auto body shop. I graduated from that program in 2005. I see you guys are still using the F150 clips. How do you like the program? Hows Gary Sobry? Still think he's Chip Foose? Good luck with school dude, it was fun while I was there. If you havent already, make good friends with Joe Ortiz if he's still there. Dude is pretty sick. Keep up the good work!

You have to copy the "IMG Code" and paste it into the thread.

Some of that stuff looks pretty badass.

Haha yea you were in the program just before it really took off then I guess. Yeah Sobbry is a reall gifted businessman I have a lot of respect for him. I don't think he ever claimed to be a designer by any means though? Yeah Joe is a good guy he works there full time now. Whats your story, where are you workin now? How old are ya?

I know he does not claim to be a designer, Im just saying hes quite egotistical. I worked for Special Projects Inc in Plymouth for awhile doing concept paint/body work. I moved to Florida about a year ago to attend a University and finish my degree. Im 24 years old and I feel very lucky to have had the experience that I do. I would definitely recommend WCC to anyone that has the drive to learn about the trade. I think about my time there quite often. Good luck!

Cool man I'm glad to hear it. Whats your name? I think there was some guy working at Special Projects when I was going there, but can't remember his name. It can be a pretty fun place. I worked on the 54 Fire Chief car that was at Autorama in 06.

The paint work looks great. Were you in the airbrush class that Bryan Gunn was helping conduct? The skull and marble stuff reminds me of his work.

Its all about the prep work and wet sanding/polishing. Learn how to mask and use a wheel and thats about 75% of a paint job.

Hmmm, so you spray the clearcoat pealey then wetsand/rub it? And I always thought painters were good and could lay down some mean clear!!!

Maybe some painters out there can spray that good?

Yeah he was helping out with that class. I've done a lot of other side work, but I unfortunately haven't got pics up yet. Gotta track down the snowmobile helmet I did and take some new pics for you guys.

Yes thats true. For the most part any job that's shot with have SOME texture to it, but if you have your booth temp, gun technique, & gun pressure dialed in on the money, and know how the clear your shooting lays out and reacts to how you spray it you can get jobs to lay out really nice (good enough for collision work) and never rub them as long as they aren't dirty or don't have runs/sags in them. I would never do a personal job though really w/o wetsanding and rubbing it. Its all in the prep, period.

Nice work!!! I wish I could learn how to paint, must be a god given talent.

Certain aspects are what I would consider maybe in the neighborhood of "god given talent", but to just be able to spray decent and get the job done it is much easier than you would think. Just need to learn allthe techniques, products, etc. Being able to get out of trouble and fix fuck up's is what separates a good painter from a painter in my opinion.

Awesome yet PRICEY lol. That was ford TS silver as the groundcoat w/ about 15 coats of PPG Vibrance Orange Candy.

If I put on maybe double that it would have been a badass dark rootbeer color :demon: or I could have just started w/ a darker groundcoat, maybe a dark beige...

15 coats of the mid, man that must have took about 3 1/2 hrs in basecoat time? Was that the whole truck or just the clip?
