Pacer X Revealed!

Here it is in all it's (un)glory! My long running Pacer X project has reached it's first level of completion. It is now driving under it's own power. Got it plated today and drove it to work. A kid in a Cavalier passed me literally slapping his steering wheel and laughing in delight. It's loud and raw, sounds like a bread truck and revs like a tractor.

Here are some stats....

1977 PAcer X
258 ci. inline 6
breathed on a bit (oversized valves, 11.5:1, Clifford intake, 390 Holly)
World Class T-5 trans w/line loc
8.8 rear from full size '80's Lincoln (wide)
4 wheel disk brakes (manual)
rack and pinion steering (manual)
186 rwhp/249 rwtq

I wanna thank by friends Shannan and Phil, Reiter's Metal Craft (thanx Todd) and a famous local tuner that I won't embarrass by name (lol).

The first milestone is completed. Next comes the strip. Then cosmetics. Then more horsepower. Then a cage. Then paint. Then........

Hope everyone get's a kick out of this. And it you see me at the strip stop and say "Hi". Your friends will still talk to you.

Yeah, me too. Not sure how quick it will be but it shifts well and should hook up just fine. I have low expectations that way I'll be surprised with better.
 
You need to slap a 4.0l head on that thing. The port design is a hell of alot better and youll pick up 40 horse alone. Its an easy swap. you just weld up the triangular water ports that hang over the side of the block and have it machined flat.
 
Now all you need is a big 'ol St. Bernard, name him Cujo, and feed him Alka Seltzer with water. :lol:

Sometimes it's hard to be original but I think you've pulled it off.
Maybe I'll sell the 'stang and start looking for that old Hornet I used to have....:rockwoot:

I'm definitely bringing the Mustang but I'm on the fence about the Pacer too. Ubly does allow kids on mini bikes to run so maybe I can race them!
 
That is sooooo cool! What are your expectations? Seems like a good amount of power for a small car. It cant weigh more than 2000 lbs can it? :dontknow:
