overheating problem!

88 mustang 5.0 1:6 roller rockers, mass air, headers, exhaust, 3:73 gears, smog delete, a/c delete

alright well i have been having an overheating problem for a couple weeks now and here it is......ok its runs fine when driving normal watch the temp go up and thermostat opens n she drops but when u get on it for a little bit ( warm up the tires and a race) it jus pegs at 270+.....new water pump in it still does it....new radiator( big c&r 3 inch)still does it...stuck another thermostat in it seemed to help for a little bit but now its doing it again...jus looking for someones opinion...

mine was doing this untill the HG went bad big time. at first would just run a little warm; but if I was moving it was ok. then I would come to a stop, and then it would run hotter. pressure test the coolant system and make sure you have no leaks; then do a compression test to make sure there isnt a HG problem.

If thats ok, and the coolant is flowing well; then it might be your fan setup.
 
stock gauge? if so use a real gauge to measure, its definitely NOT get that hot or youd be boiling your coolant.
