Options to Hotel for 30 days?

My Mom and her husband are now retired and want to come out for extended periods (30 days) to visit. Obviously, a hotel gets pretty pricey at 30 days. I don't have the room for them to stay with us and they like their privacy.

Are there any options that you guys are aware of that are nice and economical? I was thinking something like Residence Inn. At 140 a night, hardly economical! Would think you would get a deal for 30 days, but I guess not.

This would be around the shelby/Sterling Heights area. Obviously, doesn't have to be in those cities, but somewhat close would be nice.

Just find something with extended stay...

Should have a mini kitchen. My friend stays in them all the time, he is in Buffalo new your right now for $60 a night.

Extended Stay America? There's one at 14/Van Dyke. Not sure on the rates or if it's overrun by hookers but you might want to check into it lol

I stayed in an extended stay in Grand Rapids for 3 months a few years ago. It was cheap and having the kitchen was ideal, not sure how nice they are around here but worth checking out.

These are designed for extended stays, and they give discounts accordingly.
Small Kitchen stocked with cooking utensils, large counter for work space, computer connections... made for business travelers.
My brother traveled all the time and make extended stays... he always stayed at this one when he came in town....
I had other relatives stay here as well for extended stays with nothing but compliments.

Call around to apartments and ask about corporate housing. I've been staying at a fully furnished place here in Texas for six months at $1100/month, with a 3 week minimum stay.
