Open alcohol in public question

I got a parking ticket near Mustang Alley. I was parked on the corner of 9/ Paxton. Cop wrote me for parking in a prohibited location. Whatever- They just want $35.00 from me.

I got one a block north of 9 mile on Bermuda. except it wasnt written as a parking ticket, they wrote me for impeding traffic ($150.00). no sign within 80' of where I was parked. I am gonna fight it.

That sucks man, I seen tons of people just drinking right out of the beer can / bottle at 13 and woodward area... at least 10-15 people
Then I seen people just drinking right out of the tallboy / brown bag combination... cops never bothered anyone, they just rode by on pedal bikes looking at everyone in traffic

Me...I had a large cup from KFC and went in the rite aid and kept buying tall boys and pouring them in the cup.
Had a lawn chair setup directly outside of the front door of ride aid... good times

back in 2006 i was arrested for open intox,TTA might remember i got smart with the cop cause i wasnt the only one drinking,,,they dropped all charges in court when i showed up tho,,,and i was in the lot,,,royal oak sucks!

I was talking with a guy that lives down there and he said if you were on 'private property' you shouldn't be able to get an open intox.
not sure if thats true or not, but might help if you were in a private lot

what proof does the officer have that you had alcohol? He has the burden of proof.
Did they confiscate the cup? it's content?

the "smell" test does not hold up in court.

Unless of course you admitted to it being alcohol and he recorded it.

i never said what it was, he walked up with a smart ass attitude saying "i know that's not alcohol in there" i let him look at it and he proceeded to ask for my id and told me to pour my drink out.

another cop walked up and asked the first officer what's up, he told the second cop open alcohol. the second cop wrote my girlfriend her ticket saying consuming beer on sidewalk which isn't what we were doing and he didn't even witness her doing it. It should have said carrying a beer while looking at some bad ass 69 maro parked on the grass.

yes it was i has a black 02 t/a and svt walked up with an open beer,,,,we had all permits legal to drink on private property and i went to jail and mygirl got a open intox ticket..i gave the cop shit cause he grabbed my hand and asked me what that was and i told him,,,,,,what you cant read? bud light! and that bastard had the balls to have his friends take a polaroid of me in cuffs before the paddy wagon came and got me,,, fuck royal oak!!!!!!

stick your beer can in a burger king cup and put the straw in the can. Problem solved. I did this at the motown lot a few years ago. perfect disguise!
