One of these does not look like the other...

It just seemed to make a lot more noise than if it was just firing on 7 cylinders.

Mike, not sure I've met you, I think I only dealt with Kyle on my powdercoated stuff. Let me know what you can do with this. Its the daily driver so the faster it gets up and running, the better!

BTW, I have a line on a forged longblock. The guy wants to trade my Strim setup off of my other 99 for it.

that dont fix blowed up plugs .... and im thinkin it be worth your time to do someone with a good bore scope so you can take a peek before you double step or double spend . my.02 ...

You could also just call some machine shops-they may have a mobile guy that can fix it for you, usually you just blow the hole out with air and put in new threads, we actually have an Expedition here that just got towed in with the exact same issue.

Car is running again. It keeps overheating though, not sure what going on. Oh, and the factory battery finally took a shit today after 115k miles. for Motorcraft!

Glad it's running, now you don;t have to cram yourself into the MINI anymore lol!

It wasn't that bad at all, lol.

Glad to hear man, what was the final diagnosis?

So far it looks like the coil on plug destroyed itself at 7k rpm at the same time the cylinder pressure blew out an untightened plug. I went to check the gap on the rest of the plugs and they were all too loose for my taste.

Hey Eric, Kyle has a badass bore scope, Im sure he would let you borrow it.

I couldn't gotten an endo scope from work but I didn't think it was necessary. I helicoiled it, threw a COP on from my other car and fired it up. If the motor was damaged, I would've known right away and probably would've started tearing it down at that point.

Looks like all is well except for this overheating issue. I'll pop a new thermostat in there tomorrow and see if that does the trick.
