Old Wooden Hardwood Desk

I am pretty sure it is solid oak. Ain't no Ikea or Sauder Woodworking, that's for sure. Drawers are all tongue and groove. Came out of Grand Rapids, probably mid century. Missing the center drawer and it needs to be screwed together. It comes apart in 5 pieces - top, right drawer stack (2 drawers), left drawer stack (3 drawers), and two cross pieces. I have like one screw, so you would need to find suitable replacements for the rest. Also, the chair has a wheel that always comes out, so that would need some work. I have it jammed in there with some duct tape. This would make a nice workbench or basement desk.

$60 and I will deliver to the East Side. For more $, I will go further. I would keep this, but I literally have no extra space. If someone put some time into this, it could be pretty awesome.

That is indeed oak, it is high-grade, "quarter sawed" oak to be exact
(also known as "tiger oak").

It would be very easy to make that desk look gorgeous. I would do
what I call a "no-strip refinish".

- Lightly sand or #OOOO steel wool finish.
- Stain with "golden oak" oil.
- Then protect the finish with 1 or 2 coatings of a low gloss polyurethane.

Pretty easy, doesn't take very long & you'll have a very nice piece of furniture.

This. If there are major blemishes, you can start out with 00 steel wool and work your way to 0000. I have a very similar desk in my garage I use as a workbench to work on electronics and such.
