Old school party

I want to get together with all the old school guys. New guys are welcome too. If you think you are old school you probably aren't. If you know me you are.

:buds:

Here's a little history on MM. Summer of 00 I bought a 97 V6 Firebird. The plan was to order a new WS6 with options I wanted, and sell the 97. Well I was a little late in the year for ordering a WS6 apparently. As I was making calls I found a dealership that had a Firehawk on order. I put a $250 deposit down, and made the changes I wanted, and June/July I picked up my car. The 97 was totaled in April, which made it easier to buy the Hawk.

SLP (I fucking hate SLP Not Street Lethal Performance, but SLP the company), had an SLP day at Milan. I just got the car, and broke it in Driving to St. Ignace the weekend before (I think). I hooked up with some guys on CZ28 MI section, and drove down with them to Milan. Gram Vandrus (SP?) And I talked about forming a car club. Not just any CC that was brand specific, I wanted something the was cool with all car guys.

Sidenote: Gram was the one who actually came up with the name Motown Muscle.

A few weeks after that The ball was rolling well on getting MM started. Roderage I think found a lot on woodward to hang out at. Some more posts were made, and a few of us met at the lot. Joel from California also posted on CZ28 about coming to woodward, and I invited him to the lot.

Sidenote 2: CZ28 MI section could actually be considered the first board, as they were totally cool with us setting the club up there.

Anyways the group met at the lot. I'm pretty sure Gram was there, and a few of his friends. Eric Lucas, Nick Brioc, and his girlfriend Shelly, and Joel from Cali. (If i forgot you, let me know)

Gram suggested the name here I think, and things progressed. Shortly afterwards we had the yahoo email list. Greg Banish was just opening Detroit Speed Works, and beating everyone like a 6 mile hooker. We decided it was mutually beneficial for us to meet there. That was the start of the monthly meetings.

We progressed to the EZ board. EZ board made us the board of the month even though they had a rule stating no boards with swearing allowed as a board of the month. I guess we were starting to get big? Anyone remember the password to Everyone but Eric Forum?

Turbobuick came on around then I think. I wanted to kick that fat mother fuckers ass. God did he know how to press your buttons. I love him now. He grows on you like a tumor. And he pushes buttons way better than I can. Maybe I was a little jealous?

I really don't remember how long we rocked the EZ board, but the next woodward was coming up soon. We had the Lutz banner. The big lot. The magazine coverage (thanks Brian). T shirts. The awesome fucking parties! We were going big time quick. A BOD was formed. I was the first President. Brian, Connelle, Tom K. Nick D, and I think Smith were all helping out, with the BOD.

Not long after that my car got repo'd. I just couldn't make the payments and support the Wife, and new baby. By Woodward of 02 the car was gone. I came anyways in the Intrepid. I tried hanging out with the boys but it was too fucking depressing. I remember Melissa put a picture of the Hawk on the fridge, and I yelled at her and told her to take it down. I was so bummed out. I lost all interest in MM. It was in capable hands though. It still hurts a little to be here, but I look at all the old pics, and remember the great times we had and I want it back. I miss this place, and what we started.

I plan on making the Christmas party...provided it's the 12th. (so vote now), but I still want to get together in the near future, and have an old school party. I might even have an old flannel that survived.

i believe i attended that slp day. unless there was another one.
It was the first time to the track with mine . The car (brand new) infront of me spun and almost hit the wall. Was that you? I didn't want to run after that

I was at one of the meetings at Speedworks, and I was on the board way back then. Just like now I missed most of the meetings and parties though.

I'm not old school, I was on Michigan speed for a few years, then registered here, but waited for over a year for approval, I think Larry was the one that brought my reg. to Ricks attention, lol

so, I started browsing here around 2002 probably
