Old school mini bike

Awesome. My daughter and I just got our project running. First minibike ride, 1st wheelie, first wreck. 5 mins. She's a little spooked now, but she's getting back on..

Man, that engine brings back memories. We had a 2HP briggs on our old 60's go kart as kids, and then upped it to the 5hp off my old man's 2 stage snowblower.

Shots of that carb and gas tank have me feelin' nostalgic!

How many cc is that Briggs? The one that I got from a garbage picked edger looks very similar and it's a 3.5hp I believe.

I'm pretty sure (not 100%) that 2hp Briggs had a 5/8" shaft, and 3-4hp had a 3/4", and the 5hp was a larger block with 3/4" shaft.

Thanks guys its been a fun little rebuild. I think DRAG-ULA is right its definitely the smaller shaft & small clutch. As to how many cc's I can only guess. I got it done today and boy is it slow lol BUT I bet it does 25mph eventually!

Well done. Mini bikes are addicting. Next thing you know, you'll be slapping together a fire breathing small block Honda clone

I got it running pretty good now with a new throttle spring & some carb adjustment. Now I'm hooked again... so I picked this up over the weekend

There's a lot of good industrial spots to ride.

Wow yeah that thing is saweeet.
This new one needs a lot of TLC.... For sure needs some handlebars and the forks are sloppy.

Wow! That is inspiring!

Really dating myself, but I actually remember being able to buy BRAND NEW minibikes for $99. I was just a kid and parental units said no way.

Yep they were really cheap back then. Most of the older ones came with a 3hp or 5hp Briggs and did about 25ish. If I had to guess the output of mine, I'd say it's closer to 15hp with all of the aftermarket parts. It might be more than that once the head goes back on, my brother just ported it the other day. It had a 2.5hp 79cc originally and struggled to hit 20

This is the bike how it came brand new. https://www.amazon.com/Monster-Moto-MM-B80-AF-Mini-Bike/dp/B00KTMMQJM?th=1&psc=1
