oil pressure

on my 89 mustang the stock oil sending unit has been removed with a braided line to my vortech supercharger installed. the line to the supercharger has a spare fitting in it which i used to hook up a mechanical oil pressure gauge to. the gauge is reading 60psi at cold idle is that normal since its not right at the block and its attached to the feed line? my second guess is my gauge is junk (bought it a murrays auto parts)

If its cold it should be about that, do you think thats too low? That seems about right. Once the engine gets hot does the pressure drop down to like 35-40?

Your oil pressure is just fine. Hell, my oil pressure is at about 80 cold, then drops to about 50 when fully warm.

that sounds like my SBC in my Z71, lol
