Official replacement ref gaffe thread

To be honest, Im not much of a football fan, and I have heard everyone cry about the replacement refs, but to be honest, I dont ever recall watching a game EVER, where the refs dont blow a call, and many of the bad or missed calls cost the other team the game. As a outsider...what the differance if the call is blown by a "real" ref vs a scab? A bad call is a bad call, no matter who makes it.
Team owners say they are saving several hundred thousand dollars.
If they really wanted to cover every aspect, every angle, just sit several hundred people in a room with replay cameras and review every play from every camera. Hell, they could make a app to do the job of the refs.

It's not just blowing one or two calls...we're talking about referees who fundamentally do not have an understanding of the game. They are losing track of what down...it is losing track of where the line of scrimmage is...and are virtually incapable of keeping the game under control and flowing at a normal pace. A professional quarterback will miss a pass or two, And may even fumble or throw an interception. However, they will still do a better job than if you put a high school quarterback in there and expect them to memorize a 100+ play play book, manage an NFL offense, throw in the kind of pressure NFL QB's face, scramble, etc. that's what we have now...people who just aren't capable of officiating at that level.

To put it another way, it's be like the NHRA coming to you and asking to fill in for Tony Schumacher for the weekend. Yes, you would have a basic understanding of what to do to make a successful run, but without hundreds of 4-second passes under your belt you'd never be in the same league, and would probably end up making a big mess of things. Same thing here...these are refs who have a good understanding of the game, but just can't handle the speed and intensity of the game at the professional level
