Official driver rant thread

Seems that lately I've been encountering more and more people not paying attention and following simple rules of the road.

Tonight there we're 6 cars waiting in the left turn lane on south Rochester rd turning left onto Avon. When the light turned green, the first car sat for at least 15 seconds before starting to turn at snails pace. 15 sec is a long time to sit the there. I was about the 4 or 5th car back. Luckily this light was green longer than usual.

Then the other night I almost got side swiped by some idiot pulling out into the middle turn left lane as I was entering it to make a left. He ended up slamming his brakes and got in behind me. I'm sick of people using this as a holding lane for pulling out to make a right out of parking lots / businesses. That is NOT its intended purpose. Why do people think this is ok? I love it especially when I'm already occupying waiting to make a left and then they pull out into it and get up on you and look at you like you're the one holding them up.

People running red lights is becoming a real epidemic......

Hence, I never could understand people putting their
new, young inexperienced drivers in the smallest, cheapest
little cars they can find.

My kids drive Suburban’s & Tahoe’s.

I love the people that use the turn lanes as travel lanes driving up to a half mile to get to a light

It seems to me that most headlights have gotten brighter. Anything with HID headlights blinds me at night, and it's even worse in the rain. You'd think cars today could use some sort of photosensitive material on the windshield in order to darken oncoming headlights.

this is the worst for me when Im driving a bus brights shine in my eyes and blind me

Im driving an astro van now and I have noticed it a lot more. Tin, HID/LED may have something to do with it, but these people are deliberately driving with their brights on.

I've made the mistake of flashing my brights at them, and when they flash back it feels like I was welding without a mask on

I normally simply flash my brights & the other cars
will dim down. I haven't had to use my spotlight on a
"I'm keeping my hi-beams on" guy yet, but I'm willing.

This LED spotlight will leave you with a sunburn!

I once encountered a lady in her esclade out in rochester, running with her high beams on, and I politely asked her if she was intentionally blinding people?

She answered "I thought those were my DRL's!"

Sadly, people are unaware and/or don't care of surrounding cars. As long as they have their facebook page up to date, they are all good.

How about the morons driving with there brights on at night. I have noticed that more on Avon and John R.
I noticed that also. But I also noticed it a lot more since the city started putting all the don't veer for deer signs and the deer crossings signs on avon and John r. People are more cautious of not hitting a deer or squirrel then killing themselves or others. Seems like we should ask the deer to cross at the crosswalks instead of all the deer crossing signs. Lol

"But that blue light on the dash is sooooo pretty!!!"

My kids loves the Park Avenue Ultra and the Rendevous. The PA already took a big ass hit from a pickup that moved the parked car four feet. New tail lights and some come-along action with the nearby tree and it's still rockin'. A smaller car would have been totaled.

When you see them coming just turn your signal on and get over like your turning in the next drive lol . Need the poles like they have in other countries that block lanes .

On two separate occasions I have seen the center left turn lane used as a passing lane. On my way tonight I got passed by a Dodge Ram that was doing 60+ at night in the rain in a 40 mph zone. I think there a lot of people that treat speed limits as mere suggestions.

Had a ford ranger pull out of a library last night right in front of me. I swerved and went from 45 to 0 in nothing flat. Good thing the brembos work good. Really freaked me and my son out. Guy acted like he didn't see me coming or didn't care.
