Notchrocket's '96 GT progress

My First 4v DOHC swap cost me $750 and that was back in the day...
Mark 8 motors are like $300 now and then all you need is a Cobra intake!

Just curious... What is wrong with iron block? I know the aluminum block is a lot lighter but the iron is stronger and you can do a 60 overbore. Is there anything else?

I'm not sure, I just like the weight factor :_slide_:

I don't know, I guess I just want to try the 2v for now, because if I start leaning towards a 4v set-up that will lead to something else, and that will lead to something else and before I know it I will have lost my "budget" mind set.

Looks good. Glad she ended up in good hands. Can't wait to see the finished product.

trust me, the PI swap is a waste of time and money, for the same amount of cash you could have a 4v!

WTF !!!!!:eek5: ........:chairfall You can not take a modular block safely to .060 overbore. The limit is .040 and that is really a stretch, there is just enough material in the bores.

Update:

Block is ready for the machine shop
