Noise while driving

I'm working on a 2002 Buick Regal. When driving you occasionally get a "whaa whaa whaa" sound that seems up front or right under the driver. It doesn't seem to happen below 25mph and isn't constant. When driving straight it very rarely happens, but if I wiggle the car side to side while driving it makes the noise for a few seconds and goes away. When going down my dirt road at 5-10mph it doesn't make any "thud" or "clunk" noises when hitting pot holes like a strut mount. It's not the hum of a wheel bearing going bad.
 
Are you sure Bub Rub is not hiding out in the trunk?

Instead of it being a "whaa whaa whaa" sound, maybe it is a "Ahhh Woo Woo" sound.

Sounds like a bad wheel bearing...try swaying side to side and see it the sound is worse in 1 direction
 
It's not a wheel bearing. I know that sound. CLC85TA and myself just went for a ride and its not just doing it side to side. It also does it under decel, under light braking, and it doesn't even need to hit a bump or anything. It seems like it just starts, does it a few seconds, and quits. Sometimes it does it when you turn left, sometimes it does it when you turn right, sometimes straight.

Any possibility of a motor mount?
 
Does it do it in a particular gear ? Maybe try manuall shifting the trans from 1st to 2nd to 3rd to 4th and give each gear a few seconds and see if the noice is more noticeable in 1st or 2nd.
 
I'll have to try that tomorrow. I would find it kind of weird if it does though. Seemed while driving it would do it in several gears. It does it like 30-80mph. I'm sure it does it past that but wasn't going to go any faster in a 55.

If a planetary is fialing it really wouldn't be that weird.
